My Story

About Me

Hi, I'm Brittani! Welcome to my blog! I am married to my Prince Charming, Mama to Carter, Step-Mama to Sydney, and we are expecting a baby boy in June 2016!

I began this blog in October of 2014, about a year after a divorce that had left my world spinning. I had lost the two people that I trusted the most in my life, and it took everything that I had to pick up the pieces and start over. My faith in the Lord played the biggest role in guiding me through each day, because I knew I couldn't get through the days alone.

I started this blog mainly as a creative outlet to express my feelings and emotions. However, my posts began to gain more and more attention, and I quickly realized that I am not the only one who has experienced heartache, fear and disappointment as a woman, wife, and mother. I believe that God has given me the passion to write so that others can see His love through my story.

Fast forward to today, and the Lord continues to bless me more than I could have imagined. I met my now husband Jeff, in March of 2014 and we were married in October of 2015.(You can read more about how we met in "Our Story" ) We live in Texas, where I work part-time as a pediatric RN, and my husband is a project development manager for a baseball company and also coaches private lessons and select baseball teams.  Not only did I find my prince-charming, but I gained a precious 6 year old step-daughter named Sydney. I have a two year old son from my first marriage, Carter, and he is the absolute light of my life. My husband and I are now expecting a little boy in June, and we couldn't be more excited about the future ahead of us.

If you didn't know my story, you would probably see me as your average Mom chasing a toddler through Target with my hair in a bun, wearing yesterday's leggings. I'll probably have a coffee in my hand, because that's my breakfast.... or lunch. When I'm not folding piles of laundry, my hobbies include going to the bathroom alone, and drinking a Coke without having to share..... but I also enjoy thrift shopping, repurposing furniture, and decorating. I love to try out new beauty and hair products, and if I love them, you'll know about it!

I am so glad you're here! I hope you are able to grab a cup of coffee and stay awhile! Not only do I hope you will be inspired and comforted by my posts, but I also enjoy sharing my thrift finds, favorite beauty products, and pregnancy updates. Please don't ever hesitate to reach to me if you have comments, questions or inquiries. You can find my contact information under the tab labeled "contact".

I love to hear what each and every one of my readers has to say, and I thank you for sharing your heart with me!

I've been reading your blog for the past few days and you've definitely inspired me. My desire to serve the lord has been ignited once again. Very glad to have read this particular post. I tend to be so very hard on myself. If I make a mistake or sin I wonder what everyone will think of me and will they see me differently. Yes we do have an obligation to bring others to Christ but if my God can forgive my mistakes then that's all I should worry about. Congrats on your growing family!

Oh sweet girl, you touch more lives than you will EVER know. This blog serves as HOPE for so many. However, life does get busy and soon you will close this chapter and make a new one...and that's okay too. You have the sweetest and most amazing "Happy ever after!" Great big hugs to you!
~Shannon

Thank you for posting this Brittani! The last two and a half weeks I have been having extending family issues and they have been the hardest two weeks of my life. Yes, I have been scrolling through FB and Instagram and the feelings of jealousy that everyone's life looks so perfect! What God has shown me is how much He loves me and He has shown me true love through others as well. Hang in there! You are a blessing!!
~Katie
